The first week started off with looking at CVs which will be used for looking for a work placement for semester 3.(Which was mentioned back in semester 1)
Some of the most important things I noted was to keep it simple(Black and white maybe one extra colour), do not include a photo of yourself and to not include your birthday. All this is something I usually would include in a CV.
It was mentioned in the lecture to think of what your strengths are which I do plan to include all my skills other than what I use in University as I am open for a multi media job. This is something I really want to lean in on when I write my CV to make myself more open to different opportunities.
tailoring a CV to a job was also brought up which is something I always do however for this it will be more specific possibly looking into the jobs values and what they are actually asking for in a job (for example teamwork).
During week 1 the class took part in a ‘20 questions’ task which was to guess someones job title in only 20 questions. The job I got was super weird which was a ‘skip intro time stamper’ but my class mates job was even weirder being a ‘lion keeper’ which I actually guessed in 10 questions. However after this task was over the lecturer then realized that he was meant to mention that it was meant to be ‘yes no’ answers only.
This weeks lecture was very informative to me to learn how to create a good CV which I will begin to work on over this week. The dos and donts was extremely useful as some ‘donts’ I have included in CVs in the past.
