This week I was introduced to my second new module for semester two, Visual Imaging and Interaction. This term was new to me and by reading it I guessed it would be something to do with User Interface. During the introduction I learned that in this module I will be learning about the use of imagery in design and focusing on illustration and data visualization.
Something I really liked provided by my lecturer is a timetable for the upcoming weeks in this class to give me a idea of what will be covered in the upcoming weeks. In this Miro board there are also plenty of resources to look through which I think is great. Looking at the upcoming weeks, week 4 sounds interesting to me as I do photography as a hobby.
During this lecture I also got to see some of the students past work for the projects I will be completing this semester. The data based projects of a ‘week in the life of…’ looked very interesting as of course the work looked great but also told the user information in a well constructed way and not just text.
Then we looked at careers with examples of designers and their works. Some of the designers I liked was Rogie King and Feltron. I then decided to look more into these designers to see more of their works. Firstly I looked into Rogie who has his own website to link his work which I decided to visit his Instagram which I found he had multiple styles which all were very nice. As mentioned in the lecture I was looking for sketches to show progression which Rogie does this similar to Jon’s Freddie Mailchimp.

Above is some of my favorite works by Rogie which I included some of his sketches where I could find them. The Egyptain cat is a very good example of idea generation, coming up with different ideas and combining the best parts of different designs into one. During my research into Rogie I found out that he works for Figma as a Designer Advocate.
Another designer mentioned in class was Feltron who creates Data based designs. I decided to look into this designer as I know in the future I will create a design to show data so I thought I would get some early inspiration.
