This was the final class which was the final pitch presentation for this project, which I have prepared very well for.
Overall I think I done very well for my part on the presentation, I think I did look at my notes too often but this was out of nerves.
At the end of the pitch I heard one of the mentors mentioned how they liked the story of the user included in the middle of the presentation, which was my part and something I made sure was the focus from the meeting the day before. So I am glad this decision paid off to focus more on the user.
One question we got asked was about funding, this is something we had actually talked about before in group meetings around the time we were creating the blueprints. Team member Jared explained this very well and said it could be like a charity, people can donate clothes etc similar to the shoe box appeal.
Something I expected to come up which it did, was about the needle packs which the mentor said it is very controversial. This was something I was unsure of the entire time but it was recommended by another mentor, which after research I did understand why it can be a ‘good idea’. Jared had researched the same which he explained the exact reason, some people will take drugs, but it stops any further issues from using used needles from the floor.
Overall the mentors really liked the idea which was great, I am very proud of my team for all their hard work and delivering our 12 week project into a 10 minute presentation, which we did not go over the time.
