At the start of the lecture it highlighted ‘important things to consider’ which included not jumping to conclusions, Focus on structural changes rather than purely on communication, Dont avoid systematic constraints and don't design for ‘ideal’ rather than excluded users.
At the start of the lecture we had a posted note task to individually ‘write down three reasons why major life transitions fail’ which lasted for ten minutes.
Below were the questions to consider:
What made that transition difficult? What assumptions did the system make about you? What would have reduced friction? When did you feel most vulnerable? Who owned your success?
For this I did struggle of something to write which was not personal. It took me a while to think of something which I went with starting University.
This was the next task similar to the first which for this task I wrote about me changing school.
For the next task I had to identify a Emotional spike moment, Admin friction, System confusion. With this me and my friend agreed on the London Underground as it is something we have both used and both found it quite stressful, especially for the first time.
