Week fours lecture was all about Logomarks, what they are, when they are used and how to make them.

To start the lecture a wordmark was compared to a logomark just to make it clear what the difference is, which the difference is in the name itself. A wordmark is a logo made of the full brands name such as Amazon where a Logomark is more of a picture ranging from pictorial, Monogram/letter form or can be abstract. It is also possible for brands to combine Wordmarks with Lettermarks such as

They can also be made dynamically chaining the design, Emblem contained in a shape or a character to represent the brand.

During the lecture the ‘Design Programme’ was mentioned which me designing week to week is the design programme, following the design process in order. I was glad this was brought up as now it feels more like the industry and to follow the process in a professional proper order.
