The first piece of brand application I looked at was ‘The customer journey’ which the example showed ‘a user visits the theatre’ which it shows the different touchpoints.
A touch point is like a customer journey map, all the steps a customer has to take to complete what they are doing. So for the example it showed the customer browsing movie times, purchasing the tickets, calling the theatre for questions, downloading the tickets then scanning them to see their movie.
Touchpoints also reinforce emotional brand identity as it is the ‘ease of use’ for the customer. You want to give the customer a pleasant experience using your brand so they will return and continue using it.
This also goes back to brand values and the functional and emotional benefit of my brand. This could be things such as having a bank card as the user feels like they are really connected and ‘own’ their bank account. which the card is also functional. Having a phonecase which works as a cardholder which is something Apple already does with some of their products, this would help with the users lifestyle making things easier for them.
Building a emotional connection with the user can also be many things such as packaging, if it looks and feels premium the user will be satisfied with the brand, such as reviving their bank card in a nicely presented way. Social media, if a brand is active on social media and connecting and engaging with their users this would build comminity, trust and to have fun with their users. Social Media is usually something I look for in a brand when shopping online on a new store I have never heard of, if I cant find the company elsewhere I usually avoid them.
To look into this more Monzo is a good bank brand competitor as it is online and popular among a younger audience. I could research into this to analyse their marketing etc to see what they do to build their customers trust.
For this task I have to create ‘Brand Application’ examples using Photoshop mock ups which would allow me to create a design in Illustrator or Figma, export it and import it to the mock up which would apply my design to a realistic image, for example a app icon on a phone.
The first thing I had to think of is what I wanted to create for my bank brand. I had two ideas one being the bank card and the other being a water bottle.
