In week 9 my final project brief was handed out which I have to complete a ‘dragons den’ type pitch. For this I need to solve a issue with a product and be successful getting ‘investments’ (If the ‘dragons’ like my idea.)
This weeks lecture covered differnt ways to identify problems to be used for my presentation pitch assignment.
There was a lot of research methods which were new to me and some even being things I wouldn't of thought of counting as research such as chatting in the pub.
For me to find a real problem I think that it has to be negative, so that is something to look into to identify real problems. Something what was actually brought up was ‘Negative brainstorming’ which was described as ‘This is an exercise in discovering the negative or unintended consequences of a product’. So this could be taking something what exists already and making a new and improved version adapting to the negatives people report.
I also think I could use connections to help identify problems which is something I already have ideas for just listening to this during the lecture. I think connections will be very benefical to identify problems which makes it easier to ask the target user questions on their problem and discuss possibe solutions.
I think using these methods along with brainstorming different ideas would help me come up with choices for problems then to consider what possible solutions could look like.
For the solution It was mentioned than it can be a re imagined excising product too but needs a USP to make it different but better.
For this week I just need to start noting down different problems, so next week I have lots of options to choose from to work on a solution with. (This will be on my Pitch Project blog)
To begin week 9’s lecture there was a talk on ‘Impostor Syndrome’ which is a feeling you may get to think that you are not good enough to do something.
